Severstal Market is the official online marketplace for purchasing steel products. The platform was designed to simplify complex B2B purchasing workflows and provide corporate clients with a faster and more intuitive buying experience. The project focused on improving usability, aligning design and development workflows, and delivering a scalable MVP for digital steel trading.

The existing product development process had several critical issues:

• Design and development misalignment
• Inconsistent UI implementation
• Unclear product workflows
• Slow delivery of new features

These issues slowed down development and negatively impacted the client experience.


The project focused on three objectives:

1. Simplify the B2B purchasing workflow
Create a clear and efficient experience for corporate buyers.

2. Align design and development
Introduce a unified UI system and shared product workflows.

3. Deliver a validated MVP
Prioritize the most valuable features and ship a stable marketplace product.


Approach

A structured product design process was introduced:

User Research

  • Interviews with corporate clients

  • Analysis of real purchasing workflows

Customer Journey Mapping

  • Identification of friction points in the buying process

  • Optimization of product discovery and ordering

Rapid MVP Iteration

  • Prototyping and usability testing

  • Prioritization of key marketplace flows
